DLR, Inst. of Flight Guidance – ATM Tower Simulator
The ATM department of the Institute of Flight Guidance/DLR e.V. aimed to renew its 200° Tower Simulator Display System for a seamless 360° cylindrical projection system. domeprojection.com won the tender and provided a turnkey solution: 13 W-UXGA LED projectors in portrait mode with a special mounting structure for easy maintenance, the cylindrical projection screen with 7m diameter and our domeprojection.com dForm auto-alignment system. The LED projectors together with our auto-aligment system are perfect for keeping maintenance cost at an absolute minimum and ensure a continuously perfect projection quality over a long operation period at DLR.

About the Insititute
DLR is Germany’s national research center for aeronautics and space. Its extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, transportation and energy is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures.
The Institute of Flight Guidance performs long-term engineering research preceding industrial developments. It is active in the field of flight control and air traffic management (ATM) incorporating other means of transport as well.
The ATM-Simulation department (Simulation for Air Traffic Management) of the Institute of Flight Guidance supports the professional research and development by analysing and evaluating new concepts and technologies for air traffic management in real environments. For that, an integrated complex of onboard and ground simulators is used.
